Why is children’s free time important?

Leisure is time to do the things we love, it’s time to enjoy and unwind, and it’s important not to feel guilty about it. Leisure time is at 21. In the 21st century, our time has become very limited, with commitments waiting for us at every turn, which makes it all the more important to make the most of it.
Children and leisure
Pre-school children have a lot of time to play, so they are often very happy, playful, lively, let their imagination run free and their development goes in a positive and positive direction. Such children express interest in different things and are inquisitive. When children start school, their playtime is significantly reduced. Suddenly they are overwhelmed with commitments, and often, because of learning difficulties, homework and other school commitments, children find that they have no free time and no fun at all. It is important for parents to know that children also need to have fun, play and so on, as this has a positive impact on their development, stimulates their imagination and boosts their mental health. Otherwise, mental disorders, overwork, anxiety and depression can result, leading to rebellion and truancy. As children get older, their free time is also determined by school and extra-curricular activities.

Extracurricular activities
We all want our children to reach their full potential and thus succeed in their education, be happy and do what they love, so it is important to listen to what they want and not force them into activities they are not interested in – this way, they will enjoy their extracurricular activities and not see them as a liability. Otherwise, if children treat them as obligations, this often leads to dissatisfaction and the lack of free time increases exponentially.
Leisure
The importance of free time for children’s development:
- new social interactions (e.g. resolving conflicts between friends),
- strengthen their mental health and learn about new emotions (falling in love),
- develop motor skills and improve motor skills (cycling, badminton, football).
