Crawling in infants is of paramount importance

Crawling allows the child to see from a higher perspective, where the ground touching the ground with the hands, knees or feet.
Every baby carries a motor predisposition from birth , which is the basis for its further motor development. This does not mean, of course, that genetics is responsible for all of his motor achievements, because if stimulated in a meaningful way, only these can go beyond genetic patterns. It is important to understand that each child is an individual and that the course of development is unique , unique and independent for each child . Some children need more encouragement to acquire motor skills, others want more independence. The important thing is that parental encouragement, knowledge and interest influence the child’s motivation, movement and, consequently, the development of important muscles and qualities for further motor development.
PLEASURE
Babies start to crawl between 7. and 9 months. Crawling is a major achievement in a child’s psychomotor development, as it is the first step towards independence. Independence is manifested by moving independently from one point to another to start exploring the world-it may be home, then it may be the home lawn, etc. Parents have an important role to play in promoting crawling, so here are some ways to support it.
- Tummy play – when a child plays on their tummy, they strengthen and train the muscles needed for successful crawling. He also lifts his head significantly, which helps him to improve his motor skills.
- Reaching dangling objects – place a toy or other object at a certain height and encourage your child to reach it. In this way, it strengthens the muscles important for crawling later on.
- Play with him and c rawl – decide on a fun game with your little one and crawl. When your child notices you crawling, he will try to imitate you.
Crawling is an important stage in both motor and cognitive development. Children who skip this stage are less able to find their way around, have weaker motor skills and develop some cognitive abilities at a significantly lower rate.
